Conference Hailed Great Success

Conference Report to be published on this Website.

The first Conference , organised by NETS UK, to discuss the development of paediatric and neo-natal aero-medical transport, was hailed a 'great success' by all participants.

Held to coincide with the opening of the NETS airbase and clinical training centre on the 19th May at the Aston Hotel, Sheffield, the conference was 25% oversubscribed with clinicians, representatives of charities and paediatric ambulance service senior personnel coming together to look at the issues involved in developing such a service.

Key note speakers Dr Andrew Berry of NETS NSW and Dr Charles Skeoch of the Scottish Air Ambulance Service identified some of the barriers they had overcome and gave a number of very helpful pointers for the future.
Elaine Foye, the chief nurse of the Scottish Air Ambulance looked at the development of suitable equipment and training.

A number of comments were made:

'Excellent opportunity to achieve round table discussions of challenges to face, ways of achieving solutions and ensuring all stakeholders needs are met'

'I am very excited about the development of this service'

'A very beneficial morning!'

'Today was very informative and interesting'

All participants will be emailed a copy of the report  View the report here
