Dr Andrew Berry

Dr Andrew Berry to be Hon. Medical Director of NETS UK

Following the recent meeting of its Trustees, Nets UK is pleased to announce that Dr Andrew Berry has accepted the position of Hon. Medical Director.

As the Co-Founder of Child Flight, the helicopter rescue arm of NETS NSW, in 1989, he has a worldwide reputation in neo-natal and paediatric aero-medical transfers.

He has been awarded the ‘Order of Australia’ and the ‘Humanitarian of the Year’ in his native Australia.

Although resident in Australia modern communications has meant that Andrew has been involved in advising NETS UK on its set up and development.

Martin Eede, Chief Executive of NETS UK said ‘To have someone of Dr Berry standing as Hon. Medical Director will have an important impact on how we develop. We will be pleased to learn from the experiences he has had in making NETS NSW one of the pre-eminent services of its type in the world as this must be the goal we have for the children we will serve in the UK’

Notes:

NETS NSW and NETS UK are independent charities working in their own countries.

Dr Berry is pictured above (on the left) at the opening of the NETS UK airbase and Clinical Training Centre with the NETS UK Chairman, Dr Asrar Rashid. Dr Rashid has flown with NETS NSW and drew the inspiration for NETS UK from that experience.
